Everyone with a pair of low-hangers have all faced the same dilemma: “Do I shave my balls and deal with the chafing? Or do I neglect them and risk my partner thinking less of me?” The answer is yes, you should shave, but I’m happy to report that chafing is no longer a part of the equation.
What Is Chafing?
Chafing is the result of rigorous skin-to-skin contact for prolonged periods of time. It often entails lots of red, itchy skin. And is most likely to occur on your thighs, butt, or armpits. However, those of us with our own personal pair of dice know that there’s a fourth spot – the ballsack! Especially after shaving!
How Can I Prevent Chafed Balls?
Luckily for us ball-bearers, there’s lots of prevention techniques! Follow this step-by-step guide to ensure that your family jewels stay nice and soft, instead of red and itchy! (Please note: Keep your eyes on your sack at all times!)
STEP ONE: LAYING THE FOUNDATION
First things first, gonad gang, how much hair are we talking? If you’re one of us that lives in a colder climate and really likes to pack it on – this step is for you! To prevent ruining your razor, or even worse, ripping out some hair, consider trimming first! Your pubes should be no longer than a small paperclip.
STEP TWO: LUBRICATION
The next step in our ball-scaping journey leads us into the shower. Start by rinsing off all the hair you previously trimmed and then apply a nice coat of conditioner around the area in question, your balls. Conditioning will help soften your hair as well as open up your hair follicles. After a quick rinse, it’s time to begin! Apply some shaving cream and arm yourself with a razor.
STEP THREE: TECHNIQUE
Unlike cutting wood or a steak, you’ll want to cut with the grain on this one. I apologize for the imagery, but the same goes for your balls! So, when you’re ready, grab a hold of them bad boys and pull the skin taut. Take your razor and shave downward to the floor. Rinse your razor clean after every pass for maximum efficiency. Don’t forget to keep a generous amount of shaving cream on the testes. Rinse well to finish this step
STEP FOUR AFTER YOU SHAVE
The worst is over, but the most important steps come after the shaving. Once you’re done, step out of the shower and gently pat those puppies dry. Next, hold your breath and apply some aftershave. It may sting but it’s important! Lastly, we recommend a nice splash of baby powder or anti-chafe lotion for balls. Continue use for a couple days and wear loose clothing to ensure chafing doesn’t make an appearance!
NEW FOUND KNOWLEDGE
Now that you’re freshly shaven and not itching like a maniac, I bet it feels good – right!? It’s amazing what a little lubrication and the right technique can do. I know we all like to believe we each have the biggest cojones on that face of the planet. And while that may be true, there’s no reason to not use the proper technique. We’re not rugged mountain men from the 1800’s after all!
