Minecraft modder Coptaine clearly knows and is a fan of this, as evidenced by their famous Item Physics add-on. This mini-expansion makes only a single change to your game – the one implied by the title – but to say that its ramifications are game-changing is an understatement!

It can be argued that legendary titles like The Legend of Zelda and the Fallout series wouldn’t have existed if their creators weren’t both terrified and enthralled by forests at night. What seems whimsical and relaxing at noon might morph into unknown shapes at midnight, and that’s plenty to kick off decades-worth of lore, it seems.
The Mutant Creatures Java Minecraft add-on captures that sentiment, sprinkling a light dose of horror within the experience. Later, JujuStyle7 repurposed it for the Minecraft Bedrock edition as well, making it available for consoles too.
